OUR PROCESS

At BANHIDE, we transform agricultural waste into sustainable, high-quality materials through an eco-friendly process.

Here’s how we do it:

Sourcing: Empowering Local Farmers

Collecting Banana Stems:

We source banana stems directly from local farmers, providing them with an additional income stream and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.

Fibre Extraction:
Harnessing Natural Strength

The fibres are carefully extracted from the banana stems using methods that minimise environmental impact, ensuring the preservation of their natural
strength and flexibility
.

This step requires significantly less water and energy compared to traditional methods, aligning with our commitment to environmental stewardship.

Material Formation:
Crafting BANHIDE and BANTEX

The extracted fibres are transformed into a durable, leather-like material suitable for fashion accessories, upholstery, and more.

Alternatively, the fibres are processed into a versatile textile ideal for apparel, home décor, and other applications

Finishing: Customizing for Excellence

Both our materials undergo finishing processes to achieve the desired texture, colour, and performance characteristics, meeting the specific needs of
our clients.

Each batch is rigorously tested to ensure it meets our high standards for durability, aesthetics, and sustainability.

Integration: Collaborating for Innovation

We collaborate with designers and brands to integrate our materials into their products, fostering innovation and promoting sustainable practices across  industries.

Feedback from our partners and customers drives our ongoing exorts to refine our materials and processes, ensuring we remain at the forefront of sustainable material development.
